A Tidbit Lucky
The time has come! The nail post which should have been here on last Friday night.... Tah Dah!
I think these fingernails are lucky. I had a horse show on Sunday, and I believe that these little tappers really gave me the boost I needed to take home a first and third place. Maybe they'll have the same effect for you??
I think these fingernails are lucky. I had a horse show on Sunday, and I believe that these little tappers really gave me the boost I needed to take home a first and third place. Maybe they'll have the same effect for you??
Materials: Two contrasting shade of blue polish, a silver or gold, a dotting tool, tape, and an old tupperware lid.
I used Love and Beauty's "light blue" and "teal/navy". Also, I used Wet n Wild's "Silvivor". Polish your nails with the light blue. I picked blue to do this design because blue ribbons are given out for first place at horse shows.
If I remember correctly, this brand took three coats to get the depth of color I was looking for. For this next step you need to wait until the polish is completely dry. I know it's awfully tempting to just get on with the next step, but you really have to be patient and wait until they dry on their own. If you don't, the tape will pull off the polish under it too. Don't PAM them or use quick dry either. The tape won't stick.
Place small pieces of tape on your nails, leaving bits uncovered. You need to be careful, and be sure that there's still spaces of the light blue left uncovered.
Next, use the darker blue to polish over the tape. Make sure that the blank spaces on your nails are covered with the polish.
It'll look like a mess, but don't worry about that. All you have to do is peel the tape off....
And voila! Your nails have really sharp angles and points that you would never have been able to get with those blunt edged polish brushes.
Next, put a drop of the silver polish onto the tupperware lid. Use your dotting tool to make little dots of silver on top of the dar blue. Think like those lights on carnival rides.
Tah Dah! The final, very lucky product. This design is fairly simple, but takes a little patience. I hope you enjoyed! Comments make my day!

Break, Glorious Break
Soooooo I painted my nails on Friday night, with every intention of uploading the post over the weekend..... But I was so gosh darn busy with all this horse show stuff that I never got around to it. But now, a plot twist! 5 whole glorious days of eating, family, and sheer time to BLOG! I can't wait. Right now I'm off to ride some ponies, but I promise that tonight or tomorrow my nails will be posted and ready for your viewing pleasure. See you then!

Finally Inspired
Bum bada dum! The long-awaited nail post! Now, I know what you're all thinking ("Geez Hannah, we wouldn't have to have waited so long, but you just didn't seem able to get your rear in gear and paint those silly fingernails of yours!"). I PROMISEEEE that I'll be more on top of things this week. I just wasn't feeling all that inspired! So now, as I'm typing with my super chic, brand new polish job, I feel pretty gosh darn good about myself.
Anyways, I went to Forever 21 yesterday, and among other things, I bought tights. 6 pairs of tights, to be exact. But one of these pairs of tights was special. They caught my eye, and just like that, I was inspired! "Immortalize me on your fingernails," they called, "Make me art!" And so I did.
Wait a little bit for the white to dry. This will keep the next coat from looking clumpy and rough underneath. Polish your fingernails with the neutral tone, I needed two coats to get the color I was looking for. One less was too light, and one more would've been too dark for my tastes. To each their own though.
Put a couple drops of the gold polish onto the tupperware lid. Using the pencil/cuticle pusher-backer tool/whatever you want to use for making dots, make little gold dots on your nails. Make them ordered, they shouldn't be just random. I made two or three dots at the tips of each nail, and placed the next dots in the spaces between them so that I could be sure to have equal space between them. Think bricks.
Slap a topcoat on, and you're done! PAM them after a couple minutes to speed up drying times.

They were beautiful...
Little gold studs...
We begin with materials : Sally Hansen "Sheerly Mauve", Maybelline "Bold Gold", "Porcelain Party", and Top Coat. You'll also need an old tupperware lid, and something to make dots with.
Materials
Start by polishing your nails white. Only do one coat, it doesn't need to be super thick or look pretty. This step just helps to cover up any blemishes or flaws in your natural nail and get more consistent color from the neutral tone.

The final masterpiece :)
Allright everybody! Thanks for listening, and sorry again for the long wait. It won't be so long again, I guarantee. I only have four days of school this week, and two the next. Thank goodness for Thanksgiving! I'll make a couple posts over the break. Ya'll take care now!
Comments make my day!

I'm Still Kickin'
Hey y'all :) Sorry it's been so long... I promise I'm not dead. I've just been otherwise engaged! All-State, riding, and oodles and oodles of homework have all been simply eating up the hours I have free to paint my poor fingernails. Hence, the posting's been a little slow. I don't have school on Monday though, so I promise you'll get a new post by then. I love you all!
