All the rain and gloom outside gave me no choice... I had to bring a beautiful day into my life somehow! So today's nail post will do just that. This one's a toughie, but I saw something like it on Pintrest and just had to try it out. It's kind of a panorama. However, I only did it on my left hand because frankly, I don't think I'd be able to produce the same results on my right. No matter though.
Start with materials:
From left to right: Wet n Wild "I Need A Refresh-Mint", Wet n Wild "Nerd Alert: Screech", Ruby Wing "Gypsy", Maybelline "Porcelain Party", Claire's "Flashy", Claire's "Marine Blue". Also, makeup sponge, cuticle pusher, and a tupperware lid.
Start by painting your nails a light blue (Ruby Wing). Wait for that to mostly dry. Then, dipping the chisel shaped end of the cuticle pusher into a couple drops of green, make lines across your entire pinky nail, and about half of the nail on your ring finger.
Like this.
Next, use two tones of slightly darkening blues and the makeup sponge to make a slight gradient by dabbing polish lightly onto your nails. Make it darkest on the top of your pointer finger, and end at the bottom of your middle fingernail. After it dries for a minute, go ahead and put some clouds on top of that with white.
Its tough to see in this picture... Look at the next step for better visualization.
Okay. That's the hard part. Taking your cuticle pusher again, dip the wedge shaped end into a drop or two of white and make two lines in the grass. On top of these, make two v-shapes in purple polish, using the same technique. Flowers! That's it! Now if you hold your hand how I have been in the images, you have a miniature beautiful day right at your fingertips.
Ta-dah!
To dry faster, spray your nails with PAM or another kind of cooking spray, and gently wipe off. Finished! That's all for now. Comments make my day!
